Between battles and raids against other barbarian factions, you build the most powerful faction possible, to withstand your enemies. Building the power of a faction involves exploring a fantasy world, slaying dangerous monsters, solving quests for the city, avoiding deadly traps, and plundering loot to share within your faction.

But in this world, actions actually have consequences, so take care. Annoying the powerful and aggressive Legion of Fear faction will cause them to declare war and destroy you. Putting some electronic loops and synths along with saxophone solos, catchy bass grooves and introspective melodies, this debut EP from Gabriel Martins takes you to the depths of Techno and Downtempo, into the realms of Silence.

(320kbps MP3)

Gabriel Martins is a Techno/Downtempo composer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His solo career, with strong electronic influences, is almost completely different from his band of origin, Lumino’. This project has started because of his need for experimenting with many rhythms other than rock, when the emergence of such inspirations in his musical career were shown evident. And from total freedom of creating and composing, a new concept called Silence was born, released in January 2013 (a five track extended play, centered in a thematic that walks between the water element and the sign of Pisces).

A special collection of tracks from ground-breaking Canadian electro artist Charlie Darker.

Hailing from Montreal, QC, Charlie Darker is poised to take over. Yes, he’s received accolades from some of the top producers in the industry, including Tiësto, Hardwell, Zedd, Porter Robinson, Steve Aoki, Knife Party, Fedde Le Grand and Madeon. Yes, at only 20 years old, he’s already released tracks on some very notable labels including Mad Decent, Dim Mak and Ministry of Sound. And yes, he was handpicked by veteran dancefloor slayer, Wolfgang Gartner, to put out the acclaimed “Atlantic / Pacific” EP on his newly re-launched Kindergarten Recordings. Those achievements certainly speak for themselves, but Charlie’s affiliation with some of the top players in the industry doesn’t even begin to sum up his ambition.

In a time where dance culture is beginning to feel homogenized and a bit too safe, Charlie Darker is creating a new breed, striving to bring unpredictability and an element of danger into the scene. With production stylings that emphasize gritty bass rhythms yet still manage to encompass memorable melodies, Charlie’s consistent output is proof that he’s ready to lead the charge. 2013 will undoubtedly be the year when the masses not only recognize the Charlie Darker brand, but strongly identify with it.

The Car Bootleg EP sees Grinny Grandad finally follow up 2010′s excellent Good Girl single. Opener Monty finds the location where Led Zeppelin meets the party breaks massive and sets the tone by employing an instantly recognisable filmic fanfare. And I don’t mean Camelot which, after all is a silly place. Swim Fish is up next and abstains from guitar heroics in favour of the sort of crazy ass swing breaks that causes chorus lines of knights to high kick and is liable to find itself slotted into any number of sets to bridge the gap between electro boogie and ghetto funk. Finally, Q The Pimp pumps along on a fat blues rock vibe delivering a maximum breakbeat rnb assault comparable in yield to the Holy Hand Grenade Of Antioch.

(320kbps MP3)

Imagine Mr Scruff drinking cups of tea with The Chemical Brothers whilst babysitting DJ Yoda and you might start to come close to the sounds infused by Grinny Grandad. Based on the ‘scissors and string’ mind of Chris Morton, these guys fuse surreal references with old school record-crate creativity and come out of it with an infectious brand of subterranean pop that makes you feel good deep down inside.

Currently signed to one of the UK’s biggest & most legendary Breaks labels, Finger Lickin’ Records, Grinny Grandad have been packing out festival arenas with their live shows and DJ sets alike. 2013 will see the release of two more singles with remixes from some of the UK’s finest.

Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages

You awake from unelective brain surgery to find key memory centers of your brain missing. They’ve been replaced by Nero, your peanut-butter-craving neuro-Hud, that’ll guide you through the universal super-highways known as The Rings. If you survive fiery trench runs, flail-swinging gladiators in intergalactic arenas, and feuding trash moguls, you’ll discover that you’re a Sage, capable of rewriting the physical laws with your thoughts.

Exploring the quantum space beneath atoms has made most Sages rather eccentric, but relatively harmless. Yet The Consortium of the Inner Rings deemed that anyone capable of destroying a world with a thought will never be bound by its laws. In the interest of peace and order, they’ve slated the Sages for extermination. So began The Extinguishing, a universal war with casualties measured in galaxies. You’ll play a pivotal role in this terrible battle… if you can find out who you are.

Ring Runner: Derelict Dreams Novel

Centuries after The Extinguishing, The Consortium has hunted free Sages to near extinction. There is no more war, only running, hiding, and hoping that The Extinguishers never find you. They have the power to fly through space unfettered by a ship and to hurl planets into stars, but few can affect life, for its Will refuses their control. Still there are a few stubborn Sages who choose to make biology their domain. Arius is one such Sage. Over her fifty year pregnancy, she roamed The Rings like a rogue comet, causing enough cosmic mischief to keep astrocartographers busy and earning herself a place atop the universe’s most-wanted list. But this isn’t her story; this is the story of her son, Exterrus Rey Solipso.
