by Windmills By The Ocean
WINDMILLS BY THE OCEAN is the title of a recently unearthed recording from August 2003, the sole output of Boston natives Mike Davis, Dave Dunbar, Brooke Gillespie, Bryant Clifford Meyer and Thos Niles.
Since the project’s beginning and end, the creators have continued on in such bands as 27, ANODYNE, ISIS, and RED SPAROWES, but the relevancy of this intense recording can be most appreciated now, three years after it’s conception.
The variety and depth to this (mostly) instrumental music documentation reaches far beyond those of any mere side-project, and the heavy-music genres are in dire need of something this refreshing.
These rock-based songs incorporate so many elements of “drone” the group could almost reside next to their celestial forefathers SUNN and EARTH, except with more melody… and drums. However, the usage of keyboard and electronic elements alongside several guitars make the album more comparable to SIGUR ROS than BLACK SABBATH, but without compromising any of the heavy metal elements the members have become most-known for.
The additional usage of improvisation and mild repetition allows the listener to relax into a slow headbang across five songs that each surpass the six-minute mark. But what makes this album most impressive is the triumphant, anthemic feel to it, especially considering the group never even made it to the live setting.
With stark imagery and layout by Sera Timms (BLACK MATH HORSEMAN), an important period of musical evolution is captured here and Robotic Empire is proud to present it to you.

Submerged in the Minneapolis, Minnesota music scene (yes, it exists!), StarF is as much of an artist as he is a listener of Hip Hop. After writing lyrics for years and realizing he needed to find a way to transmute his words into song, he began his journey into rapping around April of 2006. After years of hard work and improvement, he finally found his way to Scrub Club, which was not just another record label, but a collection of people who he could relate to and call his family.
Raised by internet culture and obsessed with music, StarF blends a mixture of poetics and edgy humor into everything he produces. Every new project is approached as the beginning of something that will better himself rather than a means to an end, and as so, StarF is consistently progressing and leveling up within the Nerdcore community.
While socially awkward to a noticeable degree, StarF still loves everyone in the community he meets. Despite any awkwardness, he will never hesitate to grab a mic and rock it for a crowd.

The island is isolated by freezing waters and constant, brutal storms. Upon the detectives’ arrival, one of the hospital’s therapists falls out of the window to his death. As their investigation begins, the detectives learn much darker things are happening at Mnemosyne Asylum than they could have guessed. None of the patients are willing to speak about the devastating fire that engulfed the hospital four years ago, or the fire’s victims. The staff do everything they can to obscure the asylum’s past, and keep the façade of peace and order intact.
Each new clue only raises more questions. Who killed Doctor Crow? What drove one of the male nurses insane? Who is Zed Rascov? Why is the name of a little girl, Ginger, carved into the wood-paneled wall of the dead doctor’s office?

Ping Ping is the story of a girl who is more than a girl.
She is a girl who lives in the world of denial.
At the beginning of the game, it appears a game of adventure as “Minako” goes into the world of the Void to find her father, a bit like Alice going down the rabbit hole. There she finds a world of three clans, a world themed after the atrocities and marvelous eccentricities found online.
Her companion is a robot called Tochi who nicknames her “Ping Ping” because her signal won’t ping him back, incorrectly believing she’s a robot. While searching for her father, she finds a motley sort of characters, and finds herself confronting a world of glass.
As the adventure continues, she finds her father overseeing the execution of her doppelganger.
There, the adventure….ends?
Based after Choose your Own Adventure books, filled with 777 choices to make, we don’t think so….!
