About The Palmer Squares (TPS): In 2009, TPS began posting videos on YouTube showcasing their rare emcee abilities. In 2010 they released the mixtape,‘First That, Now This’, greeted by much critical acclaim. Shortly after, TPS gained considerable notice after getting “called-out” by well-known artists Wax (Def Jam) and Dumbfoundead (Knocksteady) on highly-visible cyphers. Over the past year, the reputation of TPS has continued to grow—recently recording ‘The Plot Thickens’, a collaborative single with the popular jam band, Umphrey’s McGee, as well as opening shows for Action Bronson, Keith Murray, Typical Cats and the legendary group Slum Village. In May, 2012, they signed an exclusive YouTube contract with Maker Studios (Google) and released their 2nd EP, ‘Square Tactics’ on December 11th, 2012. The Palmer Squares will be making their first appearance at SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas, this March. Currently they are working on a full-length album due to release in June of 2013. Blake Allen is an audio developer, web designer, and programmer, born and raised in Seattle. He currently resides in Santa Cruz where he works as a freelance audio and website developer, and studies neuroscience at UCSC.
