It’s hard to think of successful, hard-edged, Latin-American DJs without thinking Federico Agreda Alvarez, best known as Zardonic. The Bass titan has released original tracks with three time Grammy award winner Skrillex’s OWSLA label and America’s top Drum & Bass DJ Dieselboy’s Human Imprint label; toured the entire world with a busy event schedule from his hometown Barquisimeto to Tokyo; gained worldwide air plays on BBC Radio 1; featured his music in live DJ sets by Knife Party, Bassnectar, Skream, Benga, Andy C, John B and the likes; shared the stage with créme de la créme DJs like The Outside Agency, Audio, Calvertron, Dylan, DJ Hidden as well as world renowned characters like Zombie Boy (famous for his cameo in the video ‘Born This Way’ by Lady Gaga), The Mexican Vampire Woman (Guinness World Record of the woman with the most body changes) and metal titans Dimmu Borgir; and that’s just for starters.
by State of Mind
This hand picked song bundle by State of Mind is a unique mixture of new, unreleased and released tunes (mostly from the SOM Music imprint). ‘Destinisia’ is brand new and available only in this package. The ‘Sunking VIP’ has been around for a few years and many many fans have asked for it to be released. Once again, in the name of charity, this ep represents the only chance to own this artist rework of one of dnbs all time classic tunes. ‘Quasars’ and ‘Roulette’ are by no means stocking fillers. Both tunes have achieved number 2 on the beatport charts and are some of State of Mind’s personal favorites.

Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, State of Mind are the duo of Stu Maxwell and Patrick Hawkins. Beginning their careers in 2005 SOM have become notoriously prolific producers with releases on a broad spectrum of labels throughout the dnb scene. Material can be found on the shelves via CIA Recordings, Teebee’s Subtitles Records, Friction’s Shogun Audio, Viper Recordings, Doc Scott’s 31 Records, Concord Dawn’s Uprising, Bad Company, BSE & Obsessions, Project 51, Samurai and more.
Not happy being mere producers and djs, SOM Music was launched in 2009 and is now regarded as a premier niche label in its own right. SOM Music is home to artists like Nymfo, Black Sun Empire, Spinline, Jade, Mindscape, Dose, Borderline, Trei, Neonlight & Incognito to name a few.
State of Mind released their first full CD ‘Take Control’ on Uprising Records in 2006, an album that garnered them the publicly voted award of ‘Breakthrough Artists of the year’ on the B-Net radio network in NZ, and a nomination for a prestigious NZ Music Award.
In March 2009 they released their second LP, ‘Faster than Light’ on their own label SOM Music.
Their third album called ‘Nil By Ear’ was globally released in April 2011, peaking at number 5 in the NZ Charts. This was also nominated for a NZ Music Award.
State Of Mind are the former hosts of the hugely popular ‘Next Level” 95BFM drum n bass show. The show has now been relaunched in monthly podcast format due to popular demand.
Moving forward State of Mind are now signed to Black Sun Empire’s flagship ‘Blackout’ label, and will be releasing their 4th album internationally early 2013 on Blackout & SOM Music.

Hybris is Evan Vischi. After years of being a studio recluse, Evan surfaced in the DC scene and released collaborations and solo projects under the name Robot Death Squad. He then moved to the Czech Republic to focus on advancing his own sound and began releasing under the name Hybris.
Towards the end of 2009 his tunes were spotted and picked up by Kasra, and his debut single was released on Critical: Modulations (The Cleaner/ Raindance) in June of 2010.
Not long after, a trip to Groningen and a collaboration with Noisia resulted in Crystalline, and in February 2011, the Hybris EP on Noisia’s Invisible imprint was released.
Later that year, a meeting with Goldie and Rido resulted in the creation of the Prague Connection EP, a collaborative effort between Rido and Hybris.
Hybris continues to push the limits of his brain and monitors to further uncover new sonic territory.

Currently in the midst of a next level, high-tech audio/visual tour, renowned international beat bullies Counterstrike find time to plant a few seeds for the forthcoming summer bass harvest. 2012 was their best year to date: storming 17 different countries with their trademark militant darkness and appearing on labels such as Dim Mak, Rottun, Human, Position Chrome and their own Algorythm imprint, the South African duo genuinely didn’t stop. And so the hard work continues… Not content with their eye-popping A/V show. Or indeed the rapturous reaction to their recent Loopmasters sample pack. ‘Fire’ EP. Savage, complex and highly strung with bone-shaking energy, each track is a stone-cold bust-up.
