Submerged in the Minneapolis, Minnesota music scene (yes, it exists!), StarF is as much of an artist as he is a listener of Hip Hop. After writing lyrics for years and realizing he needed to find a way to transmute his words into song, he began his journey into rapping around April of 2006. After years of hard work and improvement, he finally found his way to Scrub Club, which was not just another record label, but a collection of people who he could relate to and call his family.
Raised by internet culture and obsessed with music, StarF blends a mixture of poetics and edgy humor into everything he produces. Every new project is approached as the beginning of something that will better himself rather than a means to an end, and as so, StarF is consistently progressing and leveling up within the Nerdcore community.
While socially awkward to a noticeable degree, StarF still loves everyone in the community he meets. Despite any awkwardness, he will never hesitate to grab a mic and rock it for a crowd.

Germany’s “Kings of Minstrels”, innovators of the modern medieval music scene, put their focus on songs and tales from norse mythology during their latest two albums “Sverker” (2011) and “Gimlie” (2013). For this work it was quite obvious they had to interprete parts of the “Edda”, the key book of mythology and life of the Vikings. “Tales from the Edda” collects all songs Corvus Corax took from that book. With bagpipes, drums, horns, flutes, the biggest hurdy gurdy in the world and the powerful voice of lead singer Castus take you on a trip through the last days of the ancient gods. Hear the “Gjallarhorni” call the gods for their last battle, celebrate the madness during the end of the world in “Ragnarök” and see what the vikings believed would come afterwards: “Gimlie”, a new, golden age!
This collection is exclusively available at groupees.com
Corvus Corax – The Kings of the Minstrels The story of Corvus Corax starts with a journey. Shortly before the fall of the Berlin wall Castus and Wim, who had worked as street musicians in the GDR committed what the regime called “Republikflucht” and left eastern Germany. In memory of a tame raven they had to leave behind they called themselves Corvus Corax. The first album, “Ante Casu Pecatti”, was released as a cassette in the same year. Soon the band became known for driving rhythms, sweaty concerts and masterly instrumental technique. With drums and huge bagpipes (handcrafted by Wim), juggling and entertaining interaction with audiences, Corvis Corax contributed significantly to the development of Medieval Music as we know it. Albums like “Mille Anni Passi Sunt”, were influential to an entire scene from Moscow to Mexico City. They toured in Japan and China, the U.S. and Canada as well as all over Europe.

The selection of NAM tracks for the „special groupee track collection“ contains songs from the forthcoming NAM album that have been previously released as A and B sides on three digital singles.
“The NAM-Single “Zwei Raben / Twa Corbies” contains the medieval classics „Twa corbies“ and „Tristan´s Klage“ (Tristans lament) while the Single “SCHATTENLIED / FEENLIED” is dedicated to the journey into the otherworld, into the realm of fairies and spirits. With their Digital Single “Drei Tänze / Hirtenlied” NAM venture upon a journey to the Early folk cultures of ancient Europe. The final track “Hirtenlied” (shepherd song) is self composed but stands with the use of the Fujara, a Slovakian overtoneflute, and the shepherd pipe and the droneflute, an instrument that is played all over the Balkan, in the sign of the shepherd music of this region. Polyphonic chants meet medieval shawms and Irish and Oriental flutes, the Celtic harp meets Oriental lutes, jew´s harps meet didgeridoos, massive percussion meets driving electronic beats. A hauntingly modern instrumentation creates archetypic images in front of the inner eye of their audience and lead into a medieval otherworld full of epic and magic moments.“
Instrumentarium: Vocals, Shawm, Hornpipe,Whistles, Recorder, Ney, Jew´s harp, Dulcimer, Dombra, Rübab, Strumstick, Didgeridoo, Ocarina, Droneflute, Fujara, Overtone singing, Celtic Harp, Saz, Davul, Frame Drums, Percussion, Sounddesign, Keyboards & Programming
From primeval times on the fertile regions of the Danube have always been a melting pot of different cultures. As a rich environment and living space for many ancestors: Celts, Germans, Romans and many more the central heart of Europe remains up until today as an intermediary between East and West. While in Europe of Medieval times epics as the Song of the Nibelungs emerged and drone music has been in full bloom, even in other parts of the world epics and ballads have been recited and the people contacted the otherworld by using ancient instruments and sounds rich in overtones: The Australian aborigines played the Didgeridoo, die Siberian shamans played the Jew´s harp and the indigenous people of Africa played the Mouth bow. Following these roots & traditions the Ensemble NAM cross-culturally fuses ancient instruments with an old European and old Oriental song treasury, modern soundscapes and visionary lyrics to an epic, powerful and atmospheric music reflecting in the mirror of Now…

Hexperos‘s albums: The Garden of the Hexperides (2007) and The Veil of Queen Mab (2010) Label - Equilibrium Music; Lost in the Great Sea (2014); Autumnus – Ep (2014) Label - In the Morning Side Records
In Hexperos’ s music the listener finds various quotations from literature and art. Their music recalls baroque, medieval, celtic music with a touch of obscure or fairy atmospheres New album’s Line up: Alessandra Santovito – voice; flutes; lyrics Francesco Forgione – cello; bardic harp; hammer dulcimer; viola da gamba; bouzouki; keyboards Alessandro Pensa – violin Domenico Mancini – violin Francesco Savoretti – percussion Paolo Di Nicola – uillean pipes Michele Cinquina – tiorba Simone Ranieri – acoustic guitar Stella Mare Children’s choir directed by Paola Stivaletta
Formed in 2004, Hexperos is a project by Alessandra Santovito and Francesco Forgione, assisted by violinists Domenico Mancini, Alessandro Pensa and other talented guests.
Alessandra has a first class degree in Foreign Languages and Literature and a first class degree in opera singing, both with full marks and honours (summa cum laude). Francesco, a poli instrument musician, is in charge of recording and mixing each song and takes care of every step. Both of them have numberless experience in various music fields and play also medieval music with the ensemble Stella Nova.
The name Hexperos derives from the characters Esperidi and from Hesperos – the first being three mythological figures, the nymphs of the evening, who take care of a tree of golden apples and sing with melodious voices, and the latter the name of the first vesper star, the one preferred by Venus. Greek mythology, together with Gothic literature and pagan themes, serve as inspiration for the lyrics written by Alessandra, who on occasion uses also passages by other authors for the songs. The music, composed mostly by Francesco, with Alessandra taking care of the vocal lines, creates an atmosphere of mysterious sensuality, romance and bittersweet melancholy, with influences from both classical and contemporary genres – one often recalls soundtrack music to which the duo add numerous references to Celtic, Mediterranean, Medieval or Baroque sonorities.
